Thirty feet, all you need?
Tiki 30 catamaran for bareboat and skippered yacht charter in ThailandCharter catamarans as most people know them are large, luxurious, have lots of bathrooms and are usually better known for their abundant creature comforts then their sailing abilities.They do motor very well though …. Such charter catamarans tend to be expensive too which in many cases means that people can either not afford to charter a cat at all or that they have to, by necessity, share one with others in order to offset the costs. Smallish cats, suitable for just a couple with or without one or two children are actually very rare on the market. In response to requests for such smaller, more affordable cats we included two Wharram Tiki 30 catamarans, custom- built for us, to our fleet.
Tiki 30: truly an ideal little charter yachtOur Tiki 30’s have proven themselves a great success from the onset. They are quick, yet immensely safe and stable and we do not think there is any multihull, which is easier to sail then this one.Wharrams’ brilliant Tiki soft-wing sail rig performs exceptionally well on all points of sail and the fact there is no boom is an obvious great safety feature too. The main sail can be raised, lowered or reefed on all points of sail and in any strength of wind. This without having to resort to expensive aids, which usually negatively affect sailing abilities and are prone to failure as well. The jib is roller reefed, and for light down wind work you can set the gennaker (which is included in the standard sail wardrobe).
The Tiki 30’s ease of handling and shallow draught make her the perfect yacht to explore the hundreds of islands, anchorages, creeks and rivers along Thailand’s West coast, most of which are out of reach for the
Comfortable accommodation for 4-5 adultsProtection from sun and the odd rain shower on our Tiki 30‘s is provided by a spacious open back deck “pod” (cabin) and a large bimini. The pod has large opening windows to allow a cooling breeze to come through. It also has sleeping places. In the one Tiki 30 two single bunks. In the other one single bunk, which can be drawn out and thus, converts into a generous double bed.In each hull there is a spacious single/”friendly” double cabin and the forward hull area’s can either be used as storage or as “kiddy berths”. In theory she’d sleep 8 (!) but a realistic maximum is 4 adults or 2 adults/3 kids. There is a well-equipped galley and a proper enclosed shower/toilet compartment. On deck you find a second fresh water shower. 
If you’d think that an economy–priced charter cat would be equipped only sparsely then we are glad to prove you wrong: 100 liter capacity electric fridge, electric anchor winch, pressurized domestic water system, dedicated drinking water supply, GPS, VHF, graphic depth sounder, 300 watt inverter, CD player, cell phone, 9ft/2.70 RIB tender + outboard, to name but a few, are all part of the standard boat.
